Dance with your fears
Posté : 29.07.07
J'ai récemment reçu un mail de Ben, un PUA de Bristol !
Il concerne l'attitude face aux émotions et comment dompter cette fichu trouille!
Je l'ai laissé en V.O pour qu'il reste authetique! A MEDITER
"mihary, let me tell you about myself
I accept my fears.
I don't deny my fears.
I embrace my fears.
I dance with my fears.
Our emotions are there to serve us. They act as survival mechanisms that have
evolved to keep us safe. And they act as motivators to move us to action.
Our fear of heights is a natural survival mechanism, which has evolved to stop
us falling off of cliffs!
Our feeling of Love is a mechanism which makes us addicted to another person to
ensure that we don't leave them whilst we raise our children.
Our feeling of frustration is designed to make us get up off our ass and change
something that's not working!
Our feeling of Anger is designed to give us the energy to protect ourselves and
our loved ones if faced with a threat.
Here is the trick to dealing with bad emotions.
Take an outside perspective.
Instead of being so associated with how the emotion feels, try to witness the emotion as just something that your body is experiencing right at this moment.
If you like, imagine you were floating in the air looking down on your self.
From this perspective you can laugh at how ridiculous the emotion is!
It's always easier to give somebody else advice about how to deal with their
problems than it is to solve your own. So just imagine that you are somebody
else, witnessing yourself! What advice would you give your self?
On the other hand, good emotions should be felt and enjoyed from inside your own
body, from the 1st person perspective!
Do you get it?
Let me know!
Ben"
